Behind the scenes Passion
Compassion volunteer Medical/Dental team is amazing

The other night we held our first all team meeting for all the medical/dental coordinators. This is a team of people who have given countless hours as volunteers to structure the health aspects of the compassion clinics. They have the hard work of organizing manuals, forms, training, supplies, etc.
and they do it as volunteers.
I knew going into the dinner and meeting that I was incredibly appreciative of that team, but I walked away feeling even more inspired. Not only with the people God has blessed the cause with, but also how far God has lead this mission.
Sitting in that living room there were 10 people. That is 10 people who are completely dedicated to carrying out the tasks of a very complex and detailed ministry. It is a ministry that has to be organized, well oiled, and inspirational so that other compassion clinics can function well. They are all focused solely on medical/dental details. I chuckled inside thinking about how good God is because 10 people is just about double the number of people who planned and carried out the first ever Compassion Rockwood clinic in 2006.
Now these 10 people help teach, equip, and inspire 12 different leadership teams who are all trying to faithfully carry out the vision of churches collaborating to serve low-income neighbors with medical/dental care.
We started by going around the room introducing ourselves, because some of the dental leaders had never met some of the medical leaders. We also asked "why are you doing this?" Why are you giving hours, days, months of time as a volunteer to spread the vision and train others? The answers were incredible.
One lady in particular said it best. She said I volunteered at one event with dental check in...and now "I can't stop...I'm addicted. I see this as an incredible opportunity to give back and there is something special about these events."
This team really is a family. We work hard together, we share frustrations together, and most importantly we want to see God's kingdom grow together.
I can't express how much I love serving with this team and how much I thank God for His miraculous plan.
