Why I Hate Division

Calling for a new conversation in light of Youtube hits.

Over the last few weeks one of those Youtube sensations has taken place.  Only this time it raises some interesting questions about Christianity and its witness to the world. One spoken word author creates a massive following by hating on religion but loving Jesus, while another responds back with why he loves both.

Both men are talented and speak truth, but thats not my concern.  I'm wondering how the world sees our bickering about these profound truths.  Our division; does it speak more clearly than the truth?

Watch the Youtube hits and read a poem entitled "Why I hate Division"

CC Exec is awarded Distinguished Young Alumni of the Year

An Important Message about Purpose

Multnomah University annually grants the Alumnus of the Year Award to an alum who has expressed long-term faithfulness to God in their life and ministry. New this year, we added a Distinguished Young Alumni Award in order to recognize recent alumni who embody Christian values in their work and personal lives.  Our goal was to try and help bridge the gap for students who might connect more easily with an alum five to ten years out demonstrating promise of longevity in faithfulness to God in their lives and ministries.

To Transform a City Day 3

Are you Alternative?

In this third and final blog preparing for the Portland City Impact Roundtable I would like to rest on the positive future that is ahead. It is an absolute honor to serve the Lord here in Portland, OR. He is doing amazing things and His Church is doing well. I would be remiss to follow the trending negative culture that loves to poke holes in the church. Here in Portland we can see what happens when small groups of churches act as The Church of a city or neighborhood.
